Welcome to Cape Breton Highlands Education Centre!

Nestled in the heart of Terre Noire, Nova Scotia, along the stunning Cabot Trail, the Cape Breton Highlands Education Centre/Academy (CBHEC/A) is a vibrant place where learning comes alive! Since opening our doors in 2000, we have been dedicated to nurturing both the minds and hearts of our students.

At CBHEC/A, we believe that education is more than just academics. We focus on helping our students grow socially and emotionally, ensuring they develop into well-rounded individuals. Building strong relationships with our students and their families is at the core of what we do. We know that when families and schools work together, amazing things happen!

Our school is a melting pot of cultures, bringing together children from various communities, including:

• Pleasant Bay
• The Acadian communities of Cap-le-Moine, Saint-Joseph-du-Moine, Grand-Étang, Point Cross, Chéticamp, and Petit-Étang
• Different areas of Margaree
