Welcome to Tamarac Education Centre!

Nestled in the heart of Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, Tamarac Education Centre (TEC) is a vibrant school that caters to students from Grade PP to Grade 8. With around 540 bright and eager learners, we proudly serve not just the town, but also the surrounding communities.

At TEC, we believe in providing a rich and diverse learning experience. That’s why we offer a fantastic French Immersion program that helps our students embrace a new language and culture. Our dedicated team is here to support every child’s journey with special programs, including:

• Full-time guidance to help students navigate their school life
• Early Literacy Intervention to spark a love for reading from a young age
• Physical education to keep our students active and healthy
• Music classes that let creativity shine
• A Learning Centre for extra help and resources
• Youth Service Facilitators and a variety of support staff to ensure every child feels valued and supported.

We also believe that a good start to the day is important, which is why we have a breakfast program to fuel our students for learning. And let’s not forget about the fun! TEC has a proud history of competing in various school sports, where teamwork and sportsmanship come to life.
