Welcome to Carlton Avenue School!

Established in 1956, Carlton Avenue School is a vibrant part of the Union School District, proudly serving around 700 students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) to 5th grade. Nestled in the heart of San Jose, CA, we also open our doors to children from the lovely neighboring town of Los Gatos.

At Carlton Avenue School, we believe in creating a nurturing and enriching environment where every child can thrive. Our mission is to help students become confident, capable, and ready for the future. We know that parents and the community play a vital role in our students' success, and we encourage everyone to get involved!

Our dedicated teaching staff is passionate about providing a quality education that focuses on the needs and interests of our students. We offer a variety of programs to support our learners, including:

• Project Cornerstone ABC Reader program
• Social thinking support groups
• Big Buddy/Little Buddy program
• Leadership opportunities like Recess Leader, Expect Respect, and Safety Patrol

These initiatives help us create a supportive and friendly atmosphere where every child feels valued.

To celebrate positive behavior, we recognize our students with Caught Ya’ Being Good tickets and host monthly principal pizza lunches. At Carlton Avenue School, we’re not just a school; we’re a community that cares!
