Nestled between the charming neighborhoods of Cedar Mill and Forest Heights in NW Portland, Oregon, The Cornell School is a delightful preschool that is fully licensed and certified. Our school is set on a beautiful 3-acre wooded lot, providing a naturally stimulating environment where children can explore and learn.

A Place for Exploration and Play

At The Cornell School, we believe that learning should be fun! Our new, eco-friendly facility is designed to encourage children to discover the world around them through exploration and play. We offer a unique blend of educational approaches, including Montessori, Reggio, Play-Based, Creative, and STEAM curriculums. This mix helps children aged 3 to 5 develop important skills like independence, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Consistent Learning Environment

We operate a full-day program, five days a week, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. We believe that this consistency is key to helping young learners thrive. Our dedicated team is committed to fostering a love for learning in every child.

Commitment to Literacy

Our passion for literacy shines through our collaboration with Sesame Workshop, where we work together on an early literacy training curriculum. We want to ensure that every child has the tools they need to succeed in reading and writing.
