At the Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre (SHNC), we believe in creating a warm and nurturing environment for your little ones. Our Long Day Care & Preschool is a not-for-profit childcare service nestled in the heart of Surry Hills, Australia. Here, we blend traditional values with modern educational principles to provide a unique learning experience.

Our Philosophy

We focus on creativity, discovery, and learning through play. Our programs are designed to inspire curiosity and encourage children to explore the world around them. We proudly acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, especially the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, as the traditional custodians of this beautiful land.

Who We Serve

Our centre welcomes children aged 6 months to 5 years. With a cozy capacity of 25 children per session, we ensure that each child receives the attention they deserve. We have two dedicated rooms: one for infants and another for toddlers and preschoolers.

Learning Through Play

Our educational programs align with the Early Years Learning Framework, emphasizing the importance of play-based learning. We believe that children learn best when they are engaged and having fun! Our approach also highlights the value of community engagement, helping children connect with the world around them.
