ABLA Parede is a multifaceted organization established in 2018, providing a range of services focused on education, social support, and community development. It operates as a Private Institution of Social Solidarity (IPSS) and a Non-Governmental Development Organization (ONGD).

Preschool/Daycare Services

• Locations: Carcavelos and Parede, Portugal
• Capacity: 365 children
• Age Range: 3 months to 6 years
• Types of Services:
  • Creche (4 months to 2 years)
  • Pré-Escolar (3 to 6 years)
• Educational Approach: Based on the Movimento da Escola Moderna (MEM), focusing on individual development (physical, emotional, cognitive, spiritual) and family involvement.
• Staff: 43 Educators and Educational Assistants
• Additional Activities: Music, English, motor skills, physical education, psychology, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.
• Partnerships: Swimming, karate, and ballet.
• Operating Hours: 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM (extended hours until 7:00 PM with justification)
• Closure Periods: Weekends, national holidays, and specific dates (Christmas, New Year, Carnival, Easter, and all of August).

Services for Seniors

• Home Support Service (SAD):
  • Target Group: Individuals over 65 needing personalized care.
  • Services: Hygiene, meal preparation, transportation (Monday to Friday, meals also on weekends).
  • Eligibility: Family of staff, lack of family support, socio-economic hardship, age 80+, motor disabilities, location.
  • Monthly Fee: Based on family income.
  • Operating Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30.
  • Geographical Coverage: Parede/Carcavelos and S. Domingos de Rana.
• Centro ComVida:
  • Location: Trajouce (S. Domingos de Rana)
  • Established: 2016
  • Capacity: Approximately 26 elderly individuals.
  • Activities: Traditional games, hydro-gymnastics, museum visits.

Social Support Services

• Social Assistance Office: Support for individuals facing unemployment, illness, or lack of family support.
• Social Integration Income (RSI): Assistance for families benefiting from RSI, focusing on life transformation strategies.
• Operational Program for Supporting the Most Disadvantaged (POAPMC): Food and essential goods distribution to disadvantaged families.
• Shared Apartment: Temporary housing for homeless women with or without children, including social and psychological support.

Community Resources

• Gabinete Dívida Zero: Promotes financial literacy and helps families manage debt.
• ABLA (Des)envolve: Assists children, youth, and adults in developing their potential through specialized services (psychology, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, child and adolescent psychiatry).

Humanitarian Work
