Eco-Friendly Initiatives

The school actively participates in eco-friendly activities, such as the Dia Eco-Escolas celebrated on June 14, 2022. During this event, students explored outdoor spaces, learned about biodiversity, and engaged in healthy eating practices. They collected different types of fauna, observed them with hand lenses and binoculars, and later returned them to their habitats. The day concluded with a healthy snack prepared by parents using nutritious ingredients.

Community Projects

One of the exciting projects at Escola Básica Quinta da Condessa is called 'Muros com Vida'. Under the guidance of teacher Sandra Costa, students create sketches of agricultural ecosystems to paint a wall at the school. This project aims to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable national production. The initiative received support from teacher Suzana Loureiro and the Odivelas City Council, which provided the necessary paints for the project.

Eco-Code Initiative

The school also participates in an Eco-Code initiative, where students develop a code of conduct for environmental regulations. The Eco-Code poster features a drawing by a 5th-grade student, symbolizing nature and its diversity. Phrases for the Eco-Code were created by 6th and 7th-grade students and voted on by Environmental Delegates. The most popular phrases form the Eco-Code for 2021, promoting environmental awareness among the school community.
